Commercial building consultancy named in Sunday Times Top Ten

National independent commercial building, project and sustainability consultancy Jones Hargreaves has been named a Top Ten employer in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work list.

The nationwide workplace survey, in partnership with WorkL, recognises and celebrates the UK’s top employers, showcasing organisations that are leading the way in employee engagement, workplace culture and overall employee experience.

This year’s Best Places to Work features 567 organisations across different industries, split into 28 Best Very Big Places to Work, 126 Best Big Places to Work, 218 Best Medium Places to Work, and 195 Best Small Places to Work.

Jones Hargreaves, which has offices in Manchester, Leeds, London, Cardiff, Glasgow, Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham, was 6th on the list of Best Medium Places to Work. It is the third time the company has been recognised on the Sunday Times Best places to Work list - and first time making the top ten.

Headquartered in London but operating nationwide, Jones Hargreaves allows its 56 employees to work in a hybrid manner and take unlimited annual leave, with enhanced parental packages for longer-serving staff. As well as private medical insurance, the team enjoy a company-funded contribution towards wellbeing activities, from gym memberships to mindfulness sessions. Annual trips include a summer jaunt to Spain and a fully funded ski trip; most recently to Chamonix, Mont Blanc.

Matthew Jones, Founding Partner at Jones Hargreaves, said: “To say we’re proud of this accolade would be an understatement. For three years running, we’ve been recognised by this prestigious awards scheme for putting our people at the heart of everything we do.

“As we’ve grown our consultancy business, we’ve stayed true to our values - supporting our team to build flourishing careers while creating opportunities to connect and celebrate together through away days, skiing trips, charity fundraising events and much more.

“Our mission is to be the best employer in our sector, recognising the huge contribution our people make in shaping Jones Hargreaves into the leading commercial building consultancy it is today.”

Zoe Thomas, editor of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work, added: “Our winning employers span sizes and sectors – from tiny charities and specialist law firms, to multinational fast-food chains and utility giants, and everywhere in between. The thread joining them is the belief that a happy workforce is a stepping stone to better performance, faster growth, and bigger profits. More than that, there’s a collective instinct that a contented rank-and-file is a worthwhile business goal in and of itself.”

Lord Mark Price, founder of WorkL, said: “I am delighted that more companies than ever entered this year's Best Places to Work awards and more have been given winner’s medals. The scores are higher than last year showing a greater focus being put on how employees feel. All our research at WorkL clearly shows that happier workforces drive better commercial performance.”

Jones Hargreaves works with a range of developers, investment funds, financial institutions, property companies and occupiers to help them realise value on every project or portfolio.

The consultancy’s success in the listings come after another year of growth for the firm.
During 2025, the consultancy added several European investment funds to its client roster, including Iroko Zen, Epsicap REIM, Alderan and Inter Gestion.

Established by founders Matthew Jones and Peter Hargreaves, and joined by Managing Partner, Matt Williams, the consultancy is a growing business which has a commitment to investing in its team and the next generation of the property industry.
