Retrospective Fire Strategies

Establishing building performance.

A retrospective fire strategy establishes how an existing building is intended to perform in the event of fire where the original strategy is unavailable, incomplete or no longer reflects the building’s construction, use or management arrangements.

Our review brings together available drawings, previous assessments, building information, fire safety systems and observations from site. Where necessary, this can include targeted intrusive investigations to better understand compartmentation, construction details and the relationship between active and passive fire protection measures.

The resulting strategy records the building’s fire safety principles, identifies material departures or areas of uncertainty and provides proportionate recommendations. It can support ongoing asset management, refurbishment planning, regulatory engagement, remediation programmes and the development of a reliable fire safety record for the building.
