Stuart Bourne

Experienced and successful in both technical and commercial environments; with project management, team management and consultancy responsibilities; commercially astute, a sound technical thinker and problem solver. Worked with Architects, designers, and Fire Officers on large complex projects to ensure that the proposed fire strategy compliments the life cycle of the building.

Stuart has extensive experience in fire safety including: Healthcare, residential, commercial, educational, and licensed premises, all of which can be complex in design. Wrote fire strategies, Risk Assessments, advised on building regulations applications and commented on design in accordance with relevant standards i.e.- BS:9999 – BS:9991 and ADB Vol 1 & 2. Conducted EWS (external wall surveys) of high-rise residential buildings to ensure compliance with Building regulations and MHCLG guidance, EWS1 form applications, which subsequently led to PAS:9980 Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls. Engaged and liaised with clients on complex fire safety matters such as Waking watch provision and technical support for complex premises. Conducted Fire risk assessments for complex premises. Led on WMFS fire safety steering group for a large housing provider and sat on West Midlands social housing group to lead on fire safety consistency throughout the region. Managed a fire risk assessment portfolio across all building types. Delivered presentations to clients on Seminars and sat on a panel to answer Fire safety related questions on compliance and other technical areas.
